The last Sunday of the month, at 4 pm, the deacons sponsor a free meal open to anyone in the community. Dates may vary due to holiday schedules, so check our news section for this month’s date. We welcome all to come and enjoy a friendly and warm atmosphere with a meal. The deacons have the leadership role of this mission and enlist the help of the families of the congregation. The meal is planned for 50 friends to attend. The dinner served is planned by the family in charge. It could be as simple as sloppy joe, salad, dessert and coffee. The deacons set the dates for the year, and a sign is hung in the front of the church the week before to let the community know about it. We have had several families who serve more than one time in a year.
